5k Chili Run & Cook off

It is that time of the year again. November brings one of the Annual Events held on Fort Rucker. This year is the 17th Annual Chili 5k Run & Chili Cook off will be on Saturday, November 1st at Howze Field on FT Rucker.

The annual event is Sponsored by The Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) and 1st Battalion, 14th Aviation Regiment110th Aviation BrigadeFort Rucker, Alabama (Tomahawks).

FT RUCKER CHILI COOK-OFF TESTERS HOW TO:

While the chili cookers craft up their special chili recipes tickets are sold for $1.00 each. The bearer of the ticket can choose which chili to sample, receiving a 1 cup sample for each one of his or her tickets. Get ready -- there are always plenty of choices!

CHILI COOK OFF PROCEEDS HELP WHAT:

The proceeds help finance AAAA's scholarship fund. These scholarships, provided to only highly qualified applicants, range from $1,000 to $15,000.

All Wiregrass businesses are invited to participate in the Army Aviation Association of American (AAAA)/Fort Rucker Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Chili cook off.

Fort Rucker Chili Cook-off History:

Last year 33 chili booths provided nearly 495 gallons of chili, and over 500 runners participated in the various run events. In addition, countless family members visited the wide array of fun, family-oriented activities.

Fort Rucker Military Housing will have the yearly trick or treating event on October 31 from 6 pm - 8 pm. All on-post housing areas: Allen Heights, Muson Heights and Bowden Terrace will be part of the areas that your little goblins can visit.

On October 18, Picerne Military Housing celebrated the changing of the seasons with the "Fort Rucker Fall Festival". The FT Rucker Flier reported that over 1000 residents living on post and other military families attended the event. Larry's BBQ from Enterprise and Daleville provided their signature pulled pork sandwiches. A live DJ provided festive background music as the children enjoyed the inflatables, pumpkin putt putt, scarecrow stuffing and getting their faces painted while the parents participated in the cake walk. Fort Rucker MWR provided hayrides, sno-cones, cotton candy and funnel cake.

Residents living on-post showed off their crafty pumpkin carving skills and entered them into the pumpkin contest.

New to Twitter.com. Recently, I have begun using Twitter. Will this help? Is the extra exposure on all these Social Networking sites worth the time?
